Low Brass Section Recordings
A topic I didn't get to explore as much as wanted in my Abel paper was low brass orchestral recordings. There seems to be more sections putting out section recordings that include standard orchestral excerpts as a section and may include a few chamber works as well. I've posted a few recordings to show the diversity from these recordings.
I think it's a great opportunity for students and professionals alike to study pro sections and try to sound like them. It's also great to hear strong orchestral players performing chamber music, something we don't get to hear as often.
I really like the low brass excerpts. It would be great to see more of this, I think it can really help young players like you said. A professional recording of a piece is nice but with this you can really hear what the part is supposed to sound like.
